In the Depths of a Man's Mind - David McCann

The land of Neleuwen has endured for centuries — but a shadow from the ancient past is rising again.
When young squires Higant and Marcus find themselves at the centre of a prophecy older than memory, they are torn from everything they know and forced to walk separate paths. A king receives a warning from an enigmatic mage. A member of court is found dead, slain by a mysterious blade. And an ancient power stirs that threatens not only the kingdom — but the very fabric of time.
Rich with lore, unforgettable characters, and moments of wonder, In the Depths of a Man’s Mind is classic high fantasy in the tradition of Tolkien and Robert Jordan — told with a fresh, distinctly Australian voice.
Perfect for fans of epic fantasy, prophecy-driven adventures, and stories where ordinary people become extraordinary.
